On the 31st December 2020, the United Kingdom formally left the European Union. As a result of the UK’s departure free movement has now ended between the UK and European countries. EU Nationals who wish to enter or reside in the United Kingdom are subject to the domestic law of the United Kingdom.
Transition Phase:
If however, you were residing in the United Kingdom, prior to the 31st December 2020 you may be able to apply for pre-settled status or settled-status,depending on how long you were resident in the UK.
- Pre Settled Status enables the holder to remain in the United Kingdom for 5 years (provided certain requirements are met).
- Settled Status allows for the holder to remain on an indefinite basis (provided certain ongoing requirements are met).
Deadline to apply:
- Applications must be submitted as soon as possible. The deadline date is the 30th June 2021.
