Profile
Back to teamKeshini is renowned for her strong negotiation skills and her ability to communicate effectively with clients, combining empathy, diligence, and pragmatism. She is adept at processing complex information quickly and finding a workable solution in even the most difficult and entrenched family situations. Where a collaborative resolution is possible, Keshini is highly skilled at facilitating agreements between separating couples and fostering a conciliatory approach.
Keshini undertakes all aspects of Family Law and has a wealth of knowledge in dealing with clients from a diverse array of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Matrimonial Finance Cases
Keshini has considerable experience in handling financial matters for medium to high net-worth clients (including cases with an international element) where third party interests and trusts are involved.
Children Cases
Keshini deals with child arrangement cases where cross-jurisdictional or relocation disputes arise, and protracted Children Act 1989 cases involving parental alienation and implacable hostility. She has also acted for grandparents concerned about the wellbeing of their grandchildren and obtained Special Guardianship Orders where appropriate.
Domestic Abuse & Injunctions
Keshini is also an advocate for safeguarding clients and protecting children who have been subjected to domestic abuse, and as such regularly acts for clients in complex Non-Molestation and Occupation Order applications. She also seeks to defend clients who have been wrongfully excluded from their homes or those who have had injunctions imposed on them without sufficient evidence or merit.
Pre or Post Nuptial Agreements & Cohabitation Agreements
In addition to helping clients with matters arising from divorce and separation, Keshini believes in the importance of giving sound legal advice and assistance to clients who are about to enter into a marriage or a cohabitation arrangement. In these circumstances, Keshini looks to provide a layer of protection and certainty to couples with pre-marital wealth, as well as non-married partners wishing to formalise their living arrangements. She is well-versed in the legal implications and nuances of a well-drafted Pre/Post-Nuptial Agreement or Cohabitation Agreement.
Keshini is a qualified Meditation and Yoga Teacher and draws qualities from her practice which improve her ability to help her clients in what can sometimes be a painful and traumatic process. Further, she successfully completed the first part of a Diploma in Counselling, and her therapeutic background enables her to engage in deep listening with her clients, and effective communication. Keshini aims to help her clients see the bigger picture so that they can envision a life beyond separation and divorce. Her ethos is to balance professionalism with a humanistic attitude, which invariably produces better and more rewarding long-term outcomes for her clients.
Keshini undertakes voluntary work at various institutions and organisations in North London, supporting therapists with clients who have suffered trauma and PTSD. She was recently appointed as a Trustee of a Charity which provides support, guidance, counselling, meditation, and recovery services for vulnerable people suffering from addiction, trauma, and PTSD. As a Board Member, Keshini provides advice on various legal aspects for the charity and as a volunteer she gives support and guidance to people in need.
